SICK...VERY SICK

Phoenix was sooooo crabby Monday morning. However my mom and I had taken him to Kindermusic figuring he was just that, crabby. He was crabby all through the class too. It didn't help that since the other older toddler dropped out now it is geared toward little infants, not a walking toddler. We may be stopping the class and waiting until his age is able to do the next class up. that night I started giving him bath and noticed he was really warm, then he started shaking a lot, and crying a LOT. Grammy noticed it too, we took his rectal temp and sure enough almost 103*! I know at 104 you should seek an ER, and with the snow coming I didn't not want to wait, especially since our doc. and hospital is 20 min. away. We went tot he ER, and they got an even higher temp, all Phoenix could do was lay against my chest and shake, then against Grammy as we switched cuddling him back n forth. Phoenix was traumatized by the ER docs, they were great and super nice,l but he hated the rectal temp and being 'looked' over. They gave us a chart to follow of Tylenol and Motrin. Instructing us to keep temp of his down. that night we were wiping him down with a tepid washcloth into the wee hours of the morning. Tuesday night he had almost 104! After another dose of Tylenol and Motrin I left him in his diaper and we wiped down for a long time again and his fever broke and he was drenched in the sheets etc.. Grammy rocked him & while I changed the sheets. I slept on the floor in his room to feel safer knowing if he was in any trouble I would know faster being with there, needless to say I was NOT sleeping due to worry and uncomfortable floor! Wed. he was acting better but then bad again at lunch time. Still was not eating, just bottles and sippy cups. Thurs. Grammy and I took him to our family doctor to make sure it was not brewing into something more. He again said viral and to keep up with Motrin and Tylenol. But if by Mon. he was not better to call again. He has a well visit though on Tuesday. Doctor is very nice and I think he know his stuff, but not the bests for children, hope to find a pediatrician soon. So it began snowing when we were about 10 min. from home on Mon. eve coming home from doctor, scared me! Hard to see! By Tues morning we had an obscene amount of snow, WOW, it got so bad during that day, no more plows were coming through, it was that bad! NO ONE but a few snow mobiles were going anywhere, even then the wind was 35 MPH to 45 MPH, it was awful, temp dropped too. Scott and the neighbor shoveled enough out to get Gramme's SUV out, then a great kid from the high school came out and used a backhoe and V plow to get the rest. We all were stir crazy by Friday! Driving into town is like driving through tunnels of snow! Literally!
I kid you not, a blizzard, Here is Phoenix being pulled by Grammy in his wagon around the house, then checking out the absurd snow, and laughing at daddy trying to keep up shoveling through out the day. A pointless venture.
