Busy Boy

Phoenix has been going to 'Pre-Pre-School' for one hour each day during the week. He has really benefitted from it greatly! At first he screeched and screamed and clung to me for dear life the first three days; now it is like see ya mom, I am going to school! He does a large/small motor activity, sings, crafts, group games etc.. It is through an area high school and he always has one of the two same high school student 'teachers'. They always infirm me what he does and how he likes it etc.. He has done a lot of finger painting, made a rain maker, a shaker and pictures. He kept singing the same tune, around the house but it wasn't familiar to me until I learned they start the day singing the same song, so he must be learning and enjoying it! I was told he also made a friend too. While he is at school I get to go actually have an hour to myself! I have lunch, get groceries, clean the car etc.. Very good for both of us. He also is doing gymnastics one day a week. The physical therapist thought it would be great for him, for coordination, strength and order of doing things. The first three classes he acted like he hated it. Last time he loved it. I hope we are now enjoying it. We will do it through end of April then stop for the summer. Maybe pick it up again in the fall depending on things. Speech therapy is good. He is really starting to say things on his own now. For instance, Moses wriggled his way out of his harness while we were all outside today. Phoenix saw him wriggle out and start to run away and he yelled: "Don't run off Mosey !" We laughed!

Things I've told my 5 year old recently:

Trees talk to each other at night.

All fish are named either Lorna or Jack.

Before your eyeballs fall out from watching too much TV, they get very loose.

Tiny bears live in drain pipes.

If you are very very quiet you can hear the clouds rub against the sky.

The moon and the sun had a fight a long time ago.

Everyone knows at least one secret language.

When nobody is looking, I can fly.

We are all held together by invisible threads.

Books get lonely too.

Sadness can be eaten.

I will always be there.
